DAY 2 Wednesday 11 March, 2020 Dubai, UAE
Today we have a sightseeing tour of Dubai to see the modern developments that have catapulted this city into the twenty-first century over the last few years. This evening the group is transferred into the desert for a fantastic ‘dinner in the desert’. You will travel by four-wheel-drive vehicles to a location surrounded by sand dunes, where you will have a sumptuous BBQ dinner and watch traditional belly dancers.
DAY 3 Thursday 12 March, 2020 Dubai, UAE - Embarkation
Today is a free day to explore Dubai. Perhaps visit the Old Town and the world-famous Gold Souk, where narrow streets are lined with shop windows glinting with ornaments made in 22 and 24 carat gold. Or else visit the Burj Al Arab, one of the most well-known landmarks in Dubai and probably in the UAE and enjoy Afternoon Tea at the Skyview Bar, located on the 27th floor and about 200m above sea level. Later you are transferred to the MSC Splendida, be up on deck as the ship slips her moorings this evening. As we step off the ship in our visit to Salalah we will soon be amazed by its historic and artistic wealth. A short way from Salalah, you can visit the Khor Rori archaeological site, with the ruins of the ancient city of Sumhuran where an excursion can offer the excitement of entering the summer palace of the Queen of Sheba.
DAY 4 Friday 13 March, 2020 Khasab, Oman
This morning we arrive in Khasab, the most ‘northern city’ in the Emirates. Khasab is wellknown for its dolphin tours as well as other outdoor activities due to its strategic location and its beautiful mountainscapes as well as fjord-like craggy inlets. You may also choose to take a city tour including Bukha, a dhow cruise or a safari drive to Jebel Harim.
DAY 5 Saturday 14 March, 2020 Muscat, Oman
Today we arrive in Muscat, capital of the Sultanate of Oman. You may like to take a sightseeing tour and travel to the city of Nizwa to visit Jabrin Castle, which is probably the finest and most picturesque in Oman. You can also visit the Nizwa Fort, the oldest in Oman. It was founded in 1668, but took many years to complete, the enormous tower alone taking 30 years. After visiting the fort, you can visit the Nizwa Souk, where you will find locally-crafted goods such as silver jewellery, copper and weaving.

DAY 7 Monday 16 March, 2020 Salalah, Oman
Salalah, the birthplace of the current Sultan, sits on a long sandy beach fringed with palm trees even though the desert is just a few kilometres away. The mountains behind Salalah capture moisture that allows the famous frankincense trees to grow and produce the incense that is found in local markets and all over the world.

Start the day with an al fresco stretching class in the Aqua Park, other daily events include dance lessons, trivia quizzes, cooking demonstrations, arts and crafts and various sporting challenges including ping pong, table soccer, mini-golf and squash tournaments.

DAY 12 Saturday 21 March, 2020 Aqaba, Jordan
Today we call into the port of Aqaba, Jordan. There is only one sightseeing tour to take today and that is the tour to the spectacular ancient city of Petra, one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world. It was carved directly from the rock by the Nabateans around 300 B.C. and is more recently known for having been filmed in the movie “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade”. Accessed via a narrow canyon called Al Siq, it contains tombs and temples carved into pink sandstone cliffs, earning its nickname, the “Rose City, half as old as time.” Perhaps its most famous structure is 45m-high Al Khazneh, a temple with an ornate, Greek-style facade, and known as The Treasury.
DAY 13 Sunday 22 March, 2020 Suez Canal Transit, Egypt
Today you transit the famed Suez Canal. A daytime sailing, through the 119-mile-long Suez Canal via the Great Bitter Lake to Port Said. Opened in 1869, this is the only link between the Mediterranean and the Red Sea. It shaved weeks off voyages from Europe to Asia and Australia. A very enjoyable day.

Set in the shadow of the snow-covered Rhaetian Alps and hemmed in on both sides by steep wooded hills, Lake Como is the most spectacular of the regions three major lakes. Shaped like an upside-down Y, its winding shoreline is dotted with ancient villages and exquisite villas.
DAY 16 Wednesday 25 March, 2020 Rhodes, Greece
This morning you arrive in Rhodes. The atmospheric Old Town of Rhodes is a maze of cobbled streets that will spirit you back to the days of the Byzantine Empire and beyond. There are multiple shore excursions available. You can take a 1-hour drive south through the wonderful countryside of Rhodes island, to visit the town and archaeological site of Lindos; a pretty town overlooking a turquoise bay. Or a cultural and history tour of the ruins of Kamiros dating back to 8th century B.C.
DAY 17 Thursday 26 March, 2020 Athens, Greece
Today we call into the ancient city of Athens, capital of Greece. Athens is the home of the Acropolis and the ultimate in ancient Greek architectural perfection, the Parthenon, built to honour the goddess Athena and one of the wonders of the ancient world. The Acropolis is still dominating the frantic bustle of modern Athens.

DAY 19 Saturday 28 March, 2020 Rome, Italy
We arrive in Rome today. Take the opportunity to spend a full day sightseeing, visit the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps and the heart of the Vatican at St. Peter’s Square. See the Baroque architecture at Piazza Navona, taste Roman street food, or step back in time to Imperial Rome at the Colosseum and Roman Forum and the Pantheon.
DAY 20 Sunday 29 March, 2020 Genoa – Como, Italy – Disembarkation
Today we arrive in Genoa and disembark. We are transferred into Milan, the world’s design capital. We will have a sightseeing tour before free time to have lunch and to explore the city at leisure. You may like to see sights such as the Milan Cathedral, the Opera House or do some shopping at the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele – an upscale mall housed in a 19th century glass covered arcade. In the early afternoon, we will transfer north to Como. A free day to visit the beautiful towns on Lake Como. Catch a ferry to Villa Carlotta, known for its beautiful setting and spectacular gardens, or take another ferry across the lake to the lovely town of Bellagio. Occupying a magnificent site on the promontory dividing Lake Lecco from Lake Como, Bellagio is known for its pretty streets, villas and gardens.

We transfer to Milan Airport for our return flights to Australia.

Travelrite reserves the right to change advertised entrances if necessary, for the smooth operation of the tour. REFUNDS: The tour is based on arrangements that do not allow for any refunds in respect to sightseeing, accommodation, meals, airfare or other services not utilized after the tour has commenced.
